Art Notes
It is often said that romance is dead. And while there may be some truth to that assertion for the living, ironically, it certainly is not the case in relation to the undead. In my imagination, Dracula, everyone’s favorite love-lost vampire, carries a flame of passion forward throughout the ages. In A Midnight Stroll, my latest Halloween creation, I try to capture his glamour as he offers his latest romantic interest the keys to his icy-cold heart. A full moon lights the countryside while Dracula’s castle casts shadow over the entire painted scene. Our courting couple strolls across a classic stone bridge adorned with jack-o-lanterns and flickering candles while the mood is set for an impassioned kiss or bite. I hope you enjoy this painting as part of your fun Halloween tradition, but I also suggest you hang it through the month of February. Valentine’s Day, after all, is a good time to attest to the reality of undying love. Cheers to romance and, as always, thank you for sharing my adventures in art.
