Art Notes
Home for Christmas is a significant image in the Finale collection as it began as a special painting for his wife and family. It was never intended for a public audience. However, as family and friends started seeing this “gift” to his family, they were pleasantly amazed and surprised. They had witnessed his passion for art as a young boy and had marveled at his sketches, however, they were not aware of the extent of his artistic talent when it came to putting oil to canvas. Robert was encouraged to continue painting and to pursue his passion for art full time.
Although it is a very personal piece, intended only for his family it has become a favorite amongst many of his collectors.
Home for Christmas touches our hearts, as we all long for the warmth and safe haven of home. Robert captures the serenity you feel when all is good with the world. Although the scene is of a cold, December night, with icicles hanging from the bridge, Robert brilliantly captures the warmth, love and goodwill that so abounds at Christmas.
