Hometown Afternoon

Art Notes

Thomas Kinkade created a timely collection of six paintings over the course of his career under the series name: Hometown Memories. His first painting, Hometown Memories, was finished in 1995, and he concluded this series with Hometown Morning in 2000. Thomas Kinkade Studios® is honored to continue in Thom’s footsteps, and to take a stroll in Hometown Afternoon.

The afternoon sun has started its journey towards night, and the neighborhood has settled into serene peacefulness. On his late afternoon stroll walking his dog, a neighbor warmly greets his friends sitting on their porch enjoying the afternoon solace. Please join Thomas Kinkade Studios® and take a walk through Hometown Afternoon.

Key Points

  • In creating Hometown Afternoon the artists of Thomas Kinkade Studios® were inspired by the Hometown Memories series that Thomas Kinkade painted from 1995- 2000.
  • The six paintings in the Hometown Memories series are Hometown Memories, Hometown Chapel, Hometown Evening, Hometown Lake, and Hometown Morning.
  • Hometown Afternoon portrays a classic American town, with Victorian-styled homes
lining the street. Old Glory is proudly displayed on one of the porches.
  • Kinkadian florals line the street, and a classic Kinkade light post stands in front of one of the homes.
  • Can you find the cat lounging on one of the porches?
  • Friendly neighbors can be seen waving to one another.
  • At the end of the street, stands a white chapel reminiscent of Hometown Chapel.
